Hi! I'm Abby!

First and foremost I am a cardiac surgery resident. Growing up it was my dream to be a doctor and I am forever grateful that I have been able to accomplish that dream. I finished medical school in 2017 to which I embarked on my journey to be a heart surgeon.
​
While in residency, I started a PhD in surgical simulation and that is where I currently am in life. I have a passion for surgical education and trying to optimize how we train the future of surgery.
​
During my PhD, I have rediscovered my passion for the outdoors. Being lucky enough to live near the Rockies has allowed me to have some pretty amazing experiences.
​
This blog or diary I'd like to call it, is really an output for all things in my life. I'd like to share experiences and tips I've learned the hard way with you!
Mission
I am a lifelong learner, I mean how could I not be? When I finally finish school, I will have completed 17 years of post secondary education.

My goal with this blog is to share my experiences but more importantly all the lessons I have learned along the way!
Vision
This blog will be a very honest description of my adventures both INSIDE and OUTSIDE of the hospital.
